From what I have seen from many young women’s comments on social media is that the world has negatively influenced them to become man-haters. I cannot think of any other reason as to why they have gone so far out of their way to express their hatred towards men. Their repellent attitude will not ever allow for their nature to be submissive, and respectful towards their husbands.
Many of these young women have no problem tearing men down and emasculating them, but if they ever expect to be treated with respect, they need to begin first, with finding it in themselves.
Being a submissive, godly wife, does not make a husband out to be the danger that some women want to portray them as in their minds. As a matter of fact, I believe it is the exact opposite, when women learn the roles that God actually intended for them as it says in Titus 2:3-5.
“The older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.”
Unfortunately, “male bashing” in our culture makes it too easy to forget about the importance of masculine leadership altogether. Women should not swing so far one way trying to avoid male domination that they go to the other extreme and strip husbands of their authority.
Submission does not position a wife to be abused by her husband. Instead, it positions a wife to obey God and show love to her husband. There is absolutely no better position that a wife can be in.
If she is in a particularly difficult marriage, she can and should obey God by rightly coming forward as a witness, speaking the truth in love, and taking advantage of the biblical resources that God has given to protect her. The wife can be encouraged by the fact that she can honor God and remain faithful to Him no matter what her husband does.
